To be able to
Ability/Permission

هنگامی که در مورد توانایی یا can در گذشته و آینده صحبت می کنیم از be able to استفاده می کنیم.

'can' in future : will be able to
'can' in past : was/were able to

Present
I can cook.
من می تونم غذا پخت کنم.
I can't cook.
Can you cook?

Past
was/were + able to
I was able to cook, yesterday.
دیروز تونستم غذا بپزم.
You were able to swim.
He was able to read.
They were able to walk.

I wasn't able to cook.

Question form
Were you able to cook?

Future
Will be + able to
I will be able to cook tomorrow.
فردا می تونم آشپزی کنم.
You will be able to swim in 6 months.
تا 6 ماه آینده می تونی شنا کنی.

I won't be able to cook tomorrow.

Question form
Will you be able to cook?


برای اجازه دادن از allow و اجازه ندادن not allow استفاده می کنیم:

You're not allowed to smoke here.
اجازه نداری اینجا سیگار بکشی.

You're not allowed to take photos.
You're not allowed to speak.
