Infinitive Gerund

قبلا در درس 5 قسمت ضمایر موصولی گفتیم افعال ingدار و افعالی که بعد از آنها to می آید فعل اصلی جمله محسوب نمی شوند.

Infinitive
بعد از فعل های زیر to می آید و بعد از to فعل اصلی جمله خواهد آمد.

agree, appear, arrange
ask, decide, demand
deserve, expect, fail
forget, hope, learn
manage, mean, need
offer, plan, prepare
pretend, promise, refuse
seem, wait, want

(فعل بعد از to به صورت مصدر یا Infinitive می آید.)

He managed to bake a cake.
Jack offered to get some cake.
He promised to bring some.
What have you arranged to do?
I agreed to correct some reports.

Gerund
بعد از فعل های زیر، فعل ingدار (اسم فعل) می آید و فعل ingدار، فعل اصلی محسوب نمی شود.

admit, appreciate, avoid
complete, consider, discuss
enjoy, finish, keep
mention, miss, postpone
practice, quit, recommend
regret, risk, stop
suggest, understand

She loves reading.
I imagine being a director.
I considered celebrating with you.
He won't finish rehearsing before midnight.


نکته کنکوری:
بعد از عبارت های زیر نیز فعل ingدار (اسم فعل) می آید:

approve of – be better off
can't help – count on
do not mind – forget about
get through – insist on
keep on – look forward to
think about – think of

she forgot about canceling her appointment.
she forgot to cancel her appointment.

در مثال دوم چون forget بدون about آمده پس باید بعد از آن to بیاید.
